It’s associated with unusually pale specimens, giving Albino A+ a very different look from many of the more traditionally coloured P. cubensis varieties.

So, what’s Albino A+?

Albino A+ is a commonly used strain name associated with Psilocybe cubensis.

It’s not a separate species.

The species is Psilocybe cubensis. Albino A+ is a name used to distinguish a particular cultivated line within that species.

And mushroom terminology isn’t always perfectly straightforward.

Strain names are informal rather than formal taxonomic ranks. Their histories can be a little murky, and different sources don’t always use the terminology in exactly the same way.

That’s part of the fun of mycology.
